CBT For Depression

Welcome to CBT for Depression, the second in a series of CBT workshops that Providers for Healthy Living will be offering over the next year. In this workshop we will be discussing the theoretical basis for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and how to conceptualize depression cases within this framework. We will explore tools for properly assessing depression. We will conduct a lethality assessment, as well as discuss goal development strategies for the depressed client. We will introduce strategies for identifying automatic thoughts related to depression, and will utilize Thought Records. Strategies for behavioral activation will also be addressed. We will learn to identify core beliefs of the depressed client, and learn strategies for changing core beliefs. We will explore issues of compliance and resistance, as well as termination of therapy. Please join us for this hands on, interactive training. This four hour training can be counted as part of the 40 hours of education required for a certification in Cognitive Therapy.
